Came here while traveling through Bakersfield for lunch while craving some Indian food. They had their lunch Buffett, which I thought was a great way to experience many types of Indian cuisine without ordering a ton of dishes, as I was dining solo. I would have liked a little spicer flavoring, but again I understand that it was more mild to appeal to the masses. The naan and butter chicken was wonderful and being a white guy, one of my favorite parts.

What a saviour this restaurant was for us. We were travelling. Craving desi flavours. But wanted halal chicken/meat for which they had a special halal menu which was reassuring. We came here on our way to LA from sequoia, and had a fantastic meal. Navi, (guessing that's how his name is spelt) took good care of our specific needs. Topped it all off with a desi style regular chai. Wishing all the best for the team here.

Went down hill for a while, so didn't go back for like a year. Went back a couple of days ago 6-16 25 Food was top quality great flavors. The potato dish is my bf favorite. Everything was spot on. New favorite place to eat again. Updated Just went back tonight 7-24-25 Ordered the chili chicken & a coconut lamb dish. Forgot the name. My new favorite dish. Move over butter chicken . You've been served .

Restaurant new Taj Palace in Bakesfield Is the best restaurant in Bakersfield all the Indian restaurants I visited Them and tried their buffet, which was Awesome for the price and the quality of the food was excellent and fresh Specially, their garlic, nonce, non-veg and vegetarian varieties. I would definitely recommend anybody who is visiting or who lives here to come and try their food. You will fall in love thank you Raj Bhaji who is the owner? He’s an excellent cook.
